red on the vents ect: and the main dash blue, make it all stand out

few questions, how do i prep the main dash and spray it?

click on my profile n check my dash out. i did it red, dark grey and white to match my whole car, there wasnt anything in my car that wasnt painted apart from the centre console cos that was new, n the steering wheel coz that would have been daft.

ive been thinkin of sprayin my mk2 dash aswell but no idea how to go about doing it :|

does it need loads of prep work or can u just get a can and spray :?:

i just did bits at a time like speaker grill heater vent pillar covers

the hardest part was makin sure i had no silicon polish left on as many time i hadnt degreeced it propaly and the paint/primer reacted

also make sure u use proper plastic primer

i will get some pics of my cutom fibre glass dash asap, need to get camera developed, its based on original mk 2 dash, but highly modified, pics asap ok bud

so u spray it with plastic primer and then spray it with the colour u want?

i want my dash black with all the vents etc blue

am just finishin off the switches then ill post em up just gotta refit em

and the biggest ball ache is sprayin the softer sponge like plastic
say 4 eg the glove box as it can burin it when wetting and drying down

unfortunately i've not got the car anymore, but I still got a few bits & bobs leftover, including the colour coded dash if anyone's interested...

i would just leve it black and grey if i were you....it looks tacky all red or blue...
i dont mean any offence to peole that have done it by the way its just not my style

its taken ages to get to that stage, rubbing all the filler down (by hand) wouldn't like to do it again anyway

see my door card have that colour carpet (look in the center console) and iv painted the pockets that colour blue
