Got trouble. My car got hit up backside other week and the fuel gauge stopped working. I had a look at it to see if there was a lose wire on the fuel guage sender and ended up pulling the whole sender out of the tank, lost all the petrol on garage floor. Not happy so i put the sender back in when all the fuel was out the way and put 2 gallons of petrol in tank. Still got no petrol gauge and now the car won't start the engine is a 1.4 single point injection has anybody else had a similar problem?

sounds like your sender could be jammed in the tank somewhere stopping it from floating.
And you could have a air lock in the tank or pump stopping the petrol from getting through, try taking off the petrol cap and turning it over to see what happens.
fuel gauge wires exit the shell under the back seat, there is a good chance that the wire has been trapped causing the fault.
