Right why is it that every one seems to have a c##k up their arses about novas?? eg my work mates take the piss, they say that their shit but when asked if they have ever driven one or even sat in one the ansewer is NO. how do they no they are shit??. my friends have fords and other shite cars but yet they still all take the piss out of me for have a nova?? not only can my car beat theirs hands down top end and 0-60. (i have a 1.6 gte) but "Oh their shit" how? who said every one who doesnt have a nova has to hate them?? i can bet that every person here has had at least some sort of comment made by some one who does have a nova! i tried driving my mate fezzer i HATED it the seats where shit the gears were shit and the was not pull what so ever? it really gets to me when people say things about other people and things that they have never tried?
why do these people do this??

I do know what you mean tho. I've had numerous insults about my nova. What do people expect? They didn't come out of the showroom yesterday. They are old cars cars but they're damn good for their age. People should at least give the car a chance before dissing it.

They probably do it because they know it winds you up and they'll always get a reaction from you - next time they start, just agree with them, say 'yeah I know they can be rusty', 'yeah I know they're not that quick' etc etc.

there will always be someone that takes the piss. thing that makes me laugh is when my mates say "nova's are crap", yet they cant even drive. i sit there and say "well at least i've GOT a good, DRY car to get me home when its pis*ing down with rain" their faces soon drop :wink:

Ppl who takle the piss are either a) those who either don't drive, or have never driven one ("Have you ever driven one?" "no" "then you can't comment can you!"); b) Pug or Ford drivers; or c) comparing the nova to every other car on the road - sure, compared to modern cars they are crap! but compared to cars of the day (Clio - reliability, 205 - that interior is nasty, and built of tin foil; Fiesta - well its a ford) they hold up well. And lets face it, the car was only ever designed as a small, cheap and economical runabout, which it is.

ahh well. It'll be worth it when i get the S14, i can laugh at the kids that took the mick then :lol:
