you'll successfully transfer your old cam wear pattern onto your new cam.

I use the diesel follower in all my racing engines as its lighter and gives the valve spring an easier time

Id get new or the ones that were with the cam to be on the safe side.

if I order a set of new followers (?4 each) will the seats for the top on the valves come with them ?

the old one should be fine! but if you do use the old ones you have to squeese the oil out of them if not it will knock like a t**t! it iis very time wasten cus its not the most fun thing to do!

squezze the oil out of a follower? Just how do you do that?

The old ones will be worn, so they prob won't lift the valve as high as new ones i think.

Not sure if you would notice the diff between new and old ones when driving.

m.d aint got a Website/Number for that place? As I'm looking @ ?32 plus P+P @ the moment...

will I need new shims for the valves?

actually to answer my own question I think I should be ok as I have a Re-conned A Pack head to go on there...

sorry mate might have got the wrong end of the stick! are they hydralic or solid??

Aragorn

the cam follower is the rocker arm NOT the hydraulic lifter

you should strip your lifters down and see what condition they are in - if they are fucked then replace them too - that'll make it purr nice n quietly

so i take it is an over head valve! not an over head cam!!

Errrmmm... No its an overhead cam (OHC) the overhead valve engines (1.0 litre) were push rod and have no hydrolic lifters..
Like Aragorn said, strip the lifters down and check them before you buy new ones.. Or get some solid ones!

If you can, stretch to buy genuine vauxhall followers. They are a much better material and cast and even have a better design. They'll last longer and take more punishment.
