pedal extensions

i have a set of "type VR" pedal extensions, but it says on the box that if i fit these the car wont pass an mot. i thought that if it has rubber bits it'll be ok? also do i jus drill through the rubber and metal, or pull the rubber bits off? thanxs

The pedals also have to be a certain distance apart from each other, and the bodywork. Larger pedals mean they're closer together and could fail.

You are supposed to have the rubber grips in and the pedals are meant to be 5cm apart but mine passed an MOT with carbon pedals with no rubber and they are alot closer than 5cm. I will change them soon though - its a bit dangerous when your feet are wet, mine have sliped off a few times at choice braking moments!
