Exhaust

I've got a 1.2i and have a rage exhaust. Recently it started sounded bit s**t so I had a look and it had a VERY small hole in the pipe connecting to exhaust due to corrosion/rust.
I covered it in putty but now I am now thinking of having a straight full system custom made by local dealer. Would get rid of CAT definitely, do silencers restrict any power? May also buy a manifold to improve it.

Any ideas in to what I would be best doing?
Advantages/ disadvantages to any of the above?

i have had 4 siliencers on mine due to some trouble with the police, didnt really make a difference

i have no sielencers on my car and never had ne probs with police or owt else

What is it like then without silencers? Does it really make it alot more noisy? Does it improve performance without them?
