View Full Version : Side Repeaters
as im rebuilding the front left side, i thought id knock two birds with one stone and de side repeater the car as well!
ive cut off the repeater, but now the indication is more rapid, which would be expected if the bulb had blown (technically it has!)
i was just wondering how i can rewire the wires to make it go back as normal?
cheerz!
Don't worry 'bout it. They'll stop blinking quickly if you take off the other repeater.
I don't know if having two less bulbs'll cause the others to draw to much current and blow quicker tho.
if that will happen, should i put in a different sized fuse?
Wouldn't it just be easier to leave the repeaters in taped up isinde the wing?
That way you know it will work.
Wouldn't like to change a bulb though!

ur car wont be road legal witout side repeaters!! u cud put them in de wing mirrors. if u really dont want any, then get a risistor the same value resistance as the old repeater buld, and put this across the old 2 wires.
hmm a resistor with a value of bugger all, excellent
P=VI
V=IR
5W = !2v * I
5w/12v = 0.41A
R=V/I
12/0.41 = 29.2 Ohms
hmmmm good luck finding a 5W 29 ohm res for less than the cost of a pair of MK2 front indicators and a non side repeatered flasher relay.
ur car wont be road legal witout side repeaters!!
I thought the Mk2 was ok, as the front indicators wrap round the wing slightly?
if you stand a metre away from the rear bumper and can still see the side repeaters the car is legal. Its a very close thing with the mk2, but i say it is legal (only as i dont have side repeaters lol)
