Was a good show as usual, some quick times up the strip - Boost Beast done a 12s with a missed gearchange (I believe he later broke a driveshaft?).
Saw a few of you on the NL stand - it's odd seeing cars you know but not the people that own then - I managed to collar Ian, Kev Bendle (Kruger) & Ben (cheers for the bits m8) into entertaining me for a few mins, I saw (but was scared to speak to!!):
Dan (Bit tattoo's muscley scary man in a wife beater!),
CP (Not scared as such but he was always off somewhere in his car whenever I saw him!),
Ste (Saw him queing up for the 1/4 mile - was scared to say hello!! :lol: ),
Karl Rowntree (was either speak to people or cleaning his car!)
Will (I think it was? Also queing up for the strip?)
Anyway, I've got some pics, I'll try and get them uploaded later this week.

That Ibis hotel place was awful - half the TV channels were foreign, all the staff are foreign and the walls must of been made of cardboard cos I could hear mobile ringing in other peoples room at 2am in the morning, fook knows how many times I was woken up during the night!!

lololol, shoulda just come up and said hi, i dont bite :lol: :lol: . Soz about that with cp, its his age, if he's not wandering off he just jumps into cars and thinks he has to be places. Understandable with ste if you are female and almost 16 but other than that nice bloke. With carl, that cloth i believe is going to be surgically removed with a ten hr operation after the show season is over :wink:

I had a absolute brilliant day, weather couldn't of been better, im sun burnt too :evil:
Camping was fun with all the novaloaders until chris seriously hurt my back, head and lowerback, really spoilt my night so i went to bed, then to find in the morning that chirs had ripped my jeans and put a nice dent in my passengers door from when he fell into my car whilest carrying me on his shoulders, wont push out either :twisted:
Really enjoyed watching the cars on the strip and the drag cars.
At least i made this event!
Nice to meet kev who i've never seen, alot nicer in person :lol:

even on the drive back he was asleep.
Was a good day, meet 1 or 2 new people and spoke to less others i know.
Had a good trip up and back down wich was a bit dubious as the car started to frighten us the day before, but made it easily.
Would have been good to run it but didnt want to take the risk.
Got some good pics of Denny and Twag running but have not internet at home at the moment so will upload soon.
I could see a fairly good reason why that Donna's corsa wasnt entered, when it drove past us it sounded rough as f**k.
Was very dispointed by the trade stands (AGAIN). I think the other shows (Billing/Trax) leave PV standing when it comes to organising an event, the stalls were laid out terribly and the car stands didnt flow at all.
As ever the price of food was a disgrace.
Great weather though.

Well i had a great weekend, and for once decided to take it easy and have a nice relaxing day on the sunday!
Arrived saturday night with my mate paul only to be flagged down by chris, nice one mate really appreciated you saying high :wink: Camped just next to you all, sorry i didnt really make much of an effort on the night i felt like shat so just lay around the tents.
Thanks for the loan of the pump aswell, not sure who that was?
Did anyone see our black and white tv we had in the corsa? Funny as, i think Mel stopped and eyed it up at one point. Its a new concept in in car entertainment you know.
Got about 2 minutes sleep in total i think finally getting up at 6am to start the intensive cleaning process, oh and to have one last smirnoff ice :lol: Finishing at around 11am :lol: Dan, you will never remove my cloth its like a comfort blancket :lol:
All i seemed to do after that was talk! it was great to meet so many people of different web sites, thing is i cant remember who i met and what you looked like so if i did talk to you send me a pm so i can remember you for next time :wink:
Ian what car was entered off our stand then? I didnt even know anything like that was going on. I dont think the guys who run our club have ever really been a fan of my car that much mate, doesnt really bother me its not why i do it.

Did anyone see our black and white tv we had in the corsa? Funny as, i think Mel stopped and eyed it up at one point. Its a new concept in in car entertainment you know.

LOL! The tv was purely amazing Mel we just couldnt get the sound quality bang on something to do with chris hitting the limiter i think.
Vectra owners didnt like us lot, i took the pee out of them for awhile though and they seemed to shut up. Think they all went to bed early, pipe and sleepers in hand.
Forgot to say well done to dave for getting a 14.2 in his mustard 1.6 8v turbo, nice one fella! Look out Niel hes on your bumper! You know how to buils an amazing car mate. Did anyone see the replica of martin hills old pale blue nova? Dave helped put it togeather, was my personal car of show and it only cost ?750 to build!!!!!!

I know the Martin Hill-a-like Nova you mean - Was parked next to the strip along with the 1.6 Turbo'd one from Ireland - Funny thing was when me, Michelle (wife), Steve Latimer and his girlfriend were looking at it (the Irish yellow one) the owner came over and said that it was for sale, thinking that he was talking about the gigantic Zippy in the back (and it really was huge!!), but he meant the car - shame as Steve's gf was interested in taking the Zippy home with her!! :lol:
Another funny thing was early in the day Donna was out cleaning her Corsa wearing a short(ish) skirt - nothing out of the ordinary though. Anyway there were about a dozen neds watching her clean her car and taking pictures, she was trying her best to ignore them as they were trying to get her attention so they could take pics of her!!
Me and the wife found that funny as fook!! :lol: :lol:
Nam, glad you took those pics of the hot rods in the Ibis car park, I arrived, took the stuff to our room, went back to take pics and they'd gone!! Gutted, still at least you saved me a few pics on my camera!!

ben's 100% right about the trade stands and club stands though - they go all over the place - VBOA is loads better, plus VBOA has a proper auto jumble - something PVS could do with really.

ian, it is a rare car after all but like you say ther were many cars on our stand that stood out for me. Nick's for one, its an example of a mint car that has never really won anything and i know Nick isnt into the whole show and shine thing he does it because he enjoys it.
I think that side of the shows is far to serious and political, i would rather not worry about any of it. I much prefer meeting new faces and having a chat, thats much better than having a shelf full of awards :wink:

Only upset one vectra owners club T-shirt wearing fool with my car - as he walked passed it in the pit lane he commented loudly to his mate, so I would hear, "These fucking joey boys racing, the scrapyard's down the road" :(
Wish he'd have brought his taxi onto the strip for a pasting :lol:
Also got quite a few other dirty looks and sniggers from other people who thought I was genuinely racing a shed up the street,
Will deffinately be at the next one.

The white turbo used to Be Zulu richs car looked much better than at Trax last year, he dosent really use the site much.
Any pics of the afore mentioned blue / white turbo? whenever I trundled over to the NL stand I only saw CP's car next to Bretts.

He used to come down to our PNG Region 2 meets at Cheadle... mate of Gary Hopes... he must have been one of the first people to drop a LET into a Nova....

When i saw it next to bretts and didnt take much notice of the interior... wish i had now :cry: beacause straight away i would have recognised it!!

Nick, i spent all day talking mate didnt get chance to say hello to half of the members on our stand! I am off to the national day mate, will be going down for the weekend to do the whole social thing :wink:
It took me about 15 hours to get the car back to how it is now after the ring. Waiting to get the front end sprayed though as i am planning to do a few more track days.
As for the bonnet mate, thanks for the comments. I do love it but it is slightly on the heavy side. Planning to get a standard bonnet for the track days as it weighs the same as a small boy! :lol:
The white Turbo was mint, though i wondered who owned it as i hadnt seen the car before. I remember andys name but not what his car looked like. So many turbos around now, sorry so many MINT turbos around.
Nick your paint work is still amazing, ade is amazing at what he does.

Not as many as you probably think - I've got all the issues of TV since it started and a couple of dozen Max, Revs, Redline etc etc in total with decent Novas (or the occasional Astra or maybe Cav).
Chucked the rest away before I bought my house as there were taking up far too much room!!

Keep in regular contact with Martin (through my Direct FMD Helpline !!!) - Unfortunatley the Yoko slicks are being sent back - Won't fit as they catch the arch !!!
