Yes but will be completely and utterly pointless unless you have either a 1.3 or 1.2 Head.

Can be done as all the mounting points (stud holes) and ports all line up. However, as the ports are a different shape the air flow and the petrol are interupted as there is a step from the 1300 manifold to the the head. Because of this the engine wont run smoothly..

Just unbolt the carb from the 1300 manifold you have, pick up a new gasket to go with it, and some instant gasket paste aswell and fit it all to the 1400 inlet. Obviously you'll need the adapter plate aswell, but it will seal again fine. :D

It will be a LOT easier changing the carb over than the manifold. It will seal again - just take the rubber block and make sure all the mating surfaces are clean.

can it be a supermarket own brand of cornflakes, or does it have to be kellogs?

I think you will find that Kellogs use quite a high recycled paper content in the making of thier boxes so you could help to same the environment at the same time as perfecting you intake manifold seal.

It sould be noted that other brands such as TESCO value corn flakes may be made from a less resilient paper blend so may not return the same level of performance under high load applications
