View Full Version : Dropping Engine out - Gearshift linkage?
Ok i am pretty much ready to drop the engine out, only left to disconnect is the gearshift linkage.
I can't see how this comes out, it looks to be attached to the rear engine mount? Is this the case? Will it come out when i undo the bolt?
Thanks
just behind the rear engine mount is a clamp bolt on the gear linkage. undo that and get someone to push the gearstick forwards. Hey Presto it comes apart.
yeah the main linkage stays on the engine mount so you dont have to touch it. just do as said above
There is also a pin going through the big knuckle joint on the box (has a clip identical to the one that holds the throttle pedal in place), I would also take this out as a linkage attatched to the mount and the box won't let the engine come out!!
Good luck with the pin in the mount as these usually seize solid!
I found the best way to leave the bolt alone, (saves setting it back up) and to just take both pins out.
