F20 GEARBOX

Yelo ppl can someone tell me the proper way to line the gears up its in neutral but the car wont roll only put the box in last weekend so still need to line em up!!or do i????

The usual way is to put in reverse on both ends and do the bolt up, then there will be a few litlle left and right adjust ments to be made in neutral to ensure each gear is selectable and smooth.

i.e. if you can't get 5th (usual problem) undo the bolt and move the gear stick 1/4 - 1/2 inch left and tighten bolt.

That sounds a bit strange that it won't roll in neutral, not sticky brakes is it? Or has the clutch seized on you, how long was it out before you fitted and tried it? On mine I loosened the housing bolts and a tap with the hammer saw it jump off the flywheel and free up.

I find it easyest to push the box into 3rd then put the gear stick where I think 3rd is and tighten it up. sorted. :D
