Been doing some bodywork, rust on corner arch at rear, had to scrape off hte vinyl to do properly sort the repair.

Wondering whether to paint with I think Anthracite grey paint, or get the proper vinyl, as I want to keep the car as standard as possible.

Anyone know where can obtain vinyl for sides?

I think you can still get it from vauxhall, but it'll be pretty expensive. Best bet is to find a local bodyshop or even a signwriter who can chop you up a few sheets of vinyl to put on.

any ideas about a easier way of removing the vinyl, as it seemed pretty tough to get a 5 cm section off, let alone the whole strip.

cheers for the reply
( oh and how do you add pics here?)

Hairdryer or hot air gun, plastic scraper and some autoglym tar remover seems to work well for most ppl. It will take a while so be patient!

To add pics you'll need to host them somewhere like www.photobucket.com and then stick the address to it in the [img] tags on here

Looks good, but bear in mind paint will be easier to chip and damage than vinyl

it' s hammerite so reckon should be ok, just gonna put a few layers on to be sure.

Vinyl costs a fair bit so for a tine of Hammerite. reckon does the job.

I am quite pleased actually.
