So what are you saying exactly? Use the nova part of the cable that joins to the handbrake lever and a 750mm cav bit that comes off it to one of the discs? Whats the m8 extension bar for?

the nova short side is too long
the cav one is slightly too short
so the m8 bar is used to extend it

i didnt need to shorten or lengthen my bracket, but others i have done needed either shortened or lengthened. i used the shortest cavvy cable with the nova one, and worked good!!

Ive been into a shop today and i asked for the long part of a nova cable and the short part of a cavalier cable, but they said i need to know the engine size and year of both cars because all nova cables are different and all cavalier cables are different. Was he talking sh*t? Should i go to another shop? Or is there 2 exact specific cables that i need? Cheers

I used a full kit from a mk2 Cavailer 1.6 1987 - the cable was too long at the handbrake end - so I cut off and brazed the nipple on further down the cable to get the right length - a bit extreme but it works!
