Oil Pressure gauge!!

The other day the oil pressure gauge on my GTE started to flicker, then shortly after the needle just flicked all the way over to the right and stayed there. I had a spare set of clocks and when I changed them it still flicked round. It's always had a good oil pressure in the past, which is why this has baffled me! Does anyone know why this is, or is it just an electrical fault?

yeah i think its the connection in the engine. check that. ajck car up. turn the wheel so you can get behind the block, by starter motor and looks for i think its a blue wire with a spade connector on the end; hopefully it dangling... connect that again and it'll be sound again. wouldn't have thought its as big a deal as the clocks.

yea it could be earthing on something which makes it flick across
