I think you people might be supprised by those corsa sxi's my bro used to have a one and I have to admit for a 1.2 it was a quick car, Carly (miss nova sri) had a corsa sport with a piper exhaust system, they had a race and the outcome was supprising. obviously the corsa sport won but there wasn't that much between them to a ton.
we all know what some sr's are like...a bit slow.

74bhp from a 1.2 lump? is it MPi? Would it be worth doing a trans then put tb's etc? Might see around 100bhp.

Corsa B SXi 1.2 16v has the same power output as the Corsa C SXi regardless of what Vauxhall say. I had my Corsa B SXi rolling roaded twice with induction kit and CAT back exhaust and it achieved 76bhp and 81bhp, I have raced Corsa C SXi's and they were identical.

With regards to which is faster, there is really nothing in it at all.

I owned a black 1.4 SR at the same time I owned the Corsa so I know what both are like, the Nova being a lot more fun ;)

i don't think u can argue with Vauxhall's power figures. Especially if ur comparing them with a r/r which is most likely not 100% acurrate.

I have seen off a Corsa C 1.2 SXi easily. I have a 1400SR, I have also seen off a Corsa B SRi.

I have also seen off a Corsa C SRi 1.4

corsa 1.2 and corsa 1.2 16v are very very different animals

the 1.2 (8v) is a heap with 45bhp

the 16v has 75ish bhp as has been said in this thread - ive raced on in my 1400mpi nova and simply couldnt catch it - i sloowly closed the gap after about 80 - but that was more the other bloke easing off

well me and my mate (deanopud) raced our mate who had a corsa b sxi and we beat him, + the corsa had a full sebring stainless zort system and k&n induction kit. up 2 100mph was close but afta dat it wos plain sailin!!!
