whats the biggest engine i can get on a carb?
Are you on about carb as standard? If so 1.4sr is biggest engine on carb, but you could get a gte/gsi 1.6 on webers. If you're goin for a carb as standard though i'd get a 1.3sr-coz they're lighter and in my opinion quicker and easier to tune

thanks m8
anybody else?
ANY ENGINE from a vauxhall
You could get a cav or astra 1.6 on a carb as standard. Not sure about 1.8. If you want as big as possible carb engine why don't you just get a 2lt 16v (on injection) and convert it to carbs (such as weber 40's/45's)?
seen a 1.8 cav on a pierburg at a scrappy dunno what they go like or anything tho
unless you got for Twin webbers, what the hardon for a big carb engine for then? lol

what would be the bhp of that?
Stupid quick-On 45's on a red top you're looking at 170'ish with the rest of the engine standard. Petrol consumption will be fun though

im used to paying for petrol
you try riding a 125cc motorbike that did 30miles to the gallon
You'd be lucky to get 30 driving SENSIBLY with 45's. 8-10 if you flooring it :o
you dont have to change the tank. but yes it would be adviseable to change the lines.
just get an out of tank pump and get an injection engine lol
orrrrrrr put any GM engine in (bar let and V6) and fit carbs to it
chris T has a 20Xe on T45's with 200bhp and its a total monster
You could run a LET or V6 on carbs. There are turbo sidedraft carbs, and you could make manifolds for a V6 if you really wanted. Would make an interesting project...
