Sorry mate but I'm running 256 ml discs on the back with he ATE calipers and courtenay 300ml up front. I have a GSI alloy as spare and its as much use as a chocolate teapot. Wont go over the caliper. I have to carry a can of that Holts tyre weld...Which I hope does work if I ever get a puncture.

there is a lot of debate over this...

I have personally seen nova GSI 14" (three spokes) on a Nova with 2.0 16V brakes behind them...

there are two types of the nova alloys. the ones that came on the SRs and the ones that came on the GTE GSI. the GTE GSI ones use a different offset to clear the callipers and im sure these are the ones that will go over the 2.0 brakes. also if you wanted you could run a small spacer as if you are only goin in a streaght line you wont need to worry about handling.

steelies have more clearence as there is not as much material there. and they are standard on cavys etc with these brakes.

the caliper will clear if the disk/pads are worn down a bit

ie uve got them outta a scrappy

there are also 2 different widths of alloy

5" and 4.5" iirc

u need the 5" ones

you may have seen a nova with 14's over the 2.0l brakes thats because the earlier brakes were 236mm and the later ones were 256,i've got lenso 15" rs5's simlar to comps and they only just fit behind them were the spokes are set back from the rim also had to scrape off some paint,i've had trouble with mine on my corsa as the rear self adjusters are crap, you need to file the lip off the drum which is pretty impossible to let them come closer to the drum to cut down the ammount of pedal movement,i reccomend mintex 1144 pads, superb!!!!

Brakes from a corsa gsi fit under any nova 3 spokes.
They are 256mm x 20mm with 47mm piston calipers.
Astra 16v brakes are 256mm x 24mm with 52mm piston calipers.
If you just want wheels for the strip you wanna get some 15" steelies, using the correct tyres will give you the same rolling radius as 14's anyway.

I'm all for saving money, but why didnt you just get new drums? if the lip was so big they are probably very worn anyway

and as aragorn said, some 256mm brakes are only 20mm wide, came on astras too

Bsically I just bought the car almost a week ago and noticed this. Rather leave the useless wheel in the boot rather than take it out for no reason. Lazy I know but hey, rather spend time thrashing the motor around giving myself as scare lol

If you had a puncture on the front you could put one of the rear wheels on the front and the small spare on the back as it will fit no probs on the back.
And,mind your own buisness...lol
