ive been having problems with my engine moving too much. you can feel it when you drop down gears and its not a nice feeling.
im currently using very good condition 1.2 mounts on the 2.0. are there any differences in them and the gte or diesel ones.
is there any other ways of stiffening the mounts or do i have to get new motorsport ones.

Obviously the gte/gsi mounts are goin2 be much stronger than the 1.2 ones but shouldn't you have proper 2.0 mounts?

im not on about the steel/ally mounts that bolt to the block and gearbox, im on about the rubber type mounts that allow the engine a little give to stop the engine from rattling the car to pieces.

do you know for definate that the gte ones are stiffer.

the gsi/gte ones will be stronger if u think about it.
its a more sportier engine than a 1.2 more ummph

get gte or gsi mounts they are stronger without a doubt. make sure you change em soon too as it could twist the front end up and rip up drive shafts.

either get TAS (tyep) ones, OR fill you existing mounts with silicone to stiffen them up.

Yeah RTV them, I've done that, start on only the gearbox mount and difference was amazing, just make sure it's dried all the way through, it blew up within a day cause I hadn't let it dry throughly, the next one has been drying for 3weeks now :)
When I've been down the local factors after one it's the same part number for them.

gte/gsi mounts are different to 1.2 mounts are they?

I know the engine bay is slightly stronger (thicker steel) than the 1200.

I was always under the impression that all nova shell were exactly the same eg same strength engine bays
or am i wrong??

the gte gsi and TD bays use thicker steel.

RTV them. is that some kind of sillocone sealer or something

I'm sure Polyflex make engine mounts, they'll b alot tougher!
