For anybody that is interested, I finally managed to get my first ? mile times in today. My goal was to hit 15.5 seconds, and I wasn?t disappointed. Many regulars were complaining that they were running ? to 1 sec slower than the previous week at Santa Pod so I look forward to seeing what I can do there.

1st : 15.692 0.307R
2nd: 15.652 0.557R
3rd: 15.568 0.409R
4th: 15.628 0.423R
5th: 15.596 0.532R
6th: 15.515 0.394R

So I sort of achieved my target and I?m quite happy with that. At least if anything I?m consistent!

CP and BP also ran and whilst struggling with grip and 16?s CP managed 16.0 something which was damn good considering he wheelspan through 1st 2nd and 3rd!

Other competition included;

Peugeot 205 Mi16 on 45`s running 15.954

Several modified Escort RST`s running low 16`s

One Stage 1 Escort RST running 17.0!

240bhp Escort RST just pipped me at the line to record 15.377, Bastard! Typical Ford boy coming from behind!

A couple of Saphire Cosworths were only managing mid to late 15`s (Muhahahaaaa), but most of the RS500?s were in the mid 14?s.

If you look at these times it puts into context how well us Nova boys did.

Look out Valvers, here we come!

My times were:
Reaction ET TS (MPH)
1st run .428 16.398 83.125
2nd .541 16.080 84.459
3rd .238 16.304 85.106
4th .300 16.131 84.104

Verdict: Fookin great day apart from the wheel spin but, shit, I dont care. I think we held our own although Ben did get beat by a 1.3 Golf Turbo - glad it wasn't me:)
Highlight of the day was watching MC completely waste the Escort RST off the line:) I seemed to end up against bloody noisey V8 things but I was first away even against serious stuff. The only thing that really left me for dead from the start was a Taz (Fiat124??) with a large block V8 which meant that the driver sat in the back seat cos there was an engine in the front. 11.177secs 125mph...nuff said B-)
Congrats to MC for turning in some excellent times:D

Ps please note the reaction times - a major achievement 4 me - not quite over the hill yet! LOL!

lol at you 2 jumping the green light!!!!

0.4 is the best reaction time you can get, anything less and you went early!

good times though, and yes the valvers will have some of that, and eat you up and spit you out, don't get cocky now!
i think a dragstip day is in order soon!

0.409 is very nearly a perfect reaction time, very good.

So Ian will your car be quicker now its the same colour as Chris T`s? Only joking, it is slightly lighter with a more definate metalic flick to it. lol.

Seriously now, I think the PNG are organising a day at the Pod either Jul 30th or Aug 30th. Not sure wich, but I think this would be a good opportunity for gathering.

MC, good times... What spec are you running to get a 15.5?

If there are any organised events happening at the pod I'm well up for it... I'll try and beat the 14.7 I got last time!!

Thanx Dec, its a 1.6 8v with head, cam, carbs and zorst. I`m hopin' I can go .5 sec quicker at the pod. I`ve also removed most of my interior.

I`ve been wanting to see your motor for a while, but just missed u at Billing. I reckon the small block engines are the way to go for all round performance.
