14sr dizzy

bought a 14sr engine 2replace my knackered 1 in my 13sr! the engine Came without the dizzy n coil? i have a 14sr coil in me garage so no worries there!ive bin told that i can ONLY USE a dizzy from a14sr is this true?any help would b great as i wanna get the old girl workin!also will i need 2get my 32/34 re getted 4 the 14sr?cheers lads

I would have thought the dizzys were the same but not to sure about it! just try it and see carn't do any harm.
the carb will need setting up again cos the mixture will be wrong for the 14 but shouldn't need rejetting. :D

im using the dizzy and coil from the 1.2 engine that was in the car anyway on my 2.0 lol. works lovely. as long as it fits the end of the cam then you can use it. if you have a kent cam then they are machined for all dizzy types

yup if the drive fits in the end of the cam.

im sure the 1.4 dizzy and coil pack are unique to that car and u need to use the original dizzy and coil

1.2i, GTE and 2.0 prolly all use the same hall effect dizzy hence the 1.2i one working on your 2.0

the other option is to use the 1300 dizzy and coil assuming the 1300 dizzy fits the 1400 cam

na i mean im using the 1.2 carb one on my 2.0 as i wanted a simple system as im running twin carbs. was eastier than finding a 1.4 sr loom.
had to make an adaptor plate to mount the dizzy tho

just tried the 13sr dizzY n it wont fit on!!! any 1 got a 14sr dizzy?im gettin desperate now me mother inlaw is kickin off about the car being on ramps on her drive!HELPPPPPPPPP :cry:

Why wont it fit on? Have you got a 1.3SR camshaft you could use? That would then have the correct drive, and wouldn't perform noticeably worse either.

i tryed fittin the 13sr dizzy 2 my 14sr head n it wouldnt fit :cry: !!! come on lads some1 must of had this happen 2 them n sorted it out :roll: !WHAT DIZZY will fit on 2my 14SR ENGINE apart from the 14sr 1 :evil: ? i have a complete 13sr engine dizzy ect but i dont wanna use the 13sr cam n dizzy n coil!!!come on lads someone must know??? :cry:
