View Full Version : Bigger injectors for a gsi?Where can i get some?
As it says-Anyone know where i can get some and how much they cost?
first off, why do you want them? got a manic cam/induction system??
if not then theres no need to get them
Will have cam v.soon, have k&n, 4-branch+magnex system, modded throttle body and afm, soon to have head skimmed+flowed and in time cylinders bored out to 1710+bigger pistons. I've decided t40's use too much fuel+ throttle bodies cost fcuk loads! I'm goin2 stay on injection and want to get it as quick as poss. So do you know of any bigger fuel injectors?

forget larger injectors - the only way to make the most of that lot is mappable management
unichip costs 400quid fitted an mapped so that would be your best bet
Was goin2 uni-chip once i've done everything but i've been told they don't do that much to gsi engines-about 10bhp i've been told?

you aint listening to what i said
the standard mangement has a fixed map that has the engines volumetric efficiency at certain RPM and airflow states
you have totally changed these figures by fitting your cams etc
fitting a unichip to a stock engine is a waste of time
fitting one to a modified lump is a different matter
you would be better and gain more power with twin40's so i'd recommend using them - bosch le3jetronic will not like anything more than a 275ish cam
40's will be quite happy with a 295 in there so thats instantly more power
and fuel economy is DIRECTLY proportional to your right foot
you drive the 40's sensibly youll return the same mpg u are now
drive everywhere flat out - u wont
1710 rebore :s
didnt know that was available lol i thought 1650 was the "largest" that was sensible.
Cheers for the info-so you recommend t40's and not uni-chip then? I was told even driving sensibly i'd only have 18-20 mpg? And flooring it 8-10 mpg. A 295 cam will definately run okay with t40's?
Maybe 1710 is slightly extreme but is possible
a 295 cam will LOVE T40's :D
you can get standard economy from the T40's if you drive "senisibly"
but obv on a thrash youll pour it out.
same as my omega lol gently driving i get 26-45MPg
foot down 6.9 :D lol
It might have to be t40's then :) Only prob is once its all fitted and rolling roaded i'm not goin2 want to drive it sensibly!
so if you drive a T40'd car 'sensibly' how much mpg are you looking at?
the fuel consumption thing has always stopped me from thinking of getting them at the moment as I just could not afford to run them (from what I have heard before)...
also, anyone got ideas as to how much mpg on a 1.3 running Weber 32/34 DTML, Kent AST2, A Pack Blydenstein head?
Just a note on mpg...on my old SR (the stuffed one) it was running lean and it seemed to go through petrol like there was no tomorrow!

If you keep the injection just up the fuel pressure, that way you can keep your standard ECU and injectors and it will run fine.

point is it wont
it will run "alright" - it wont run perfect
the ignition and fuel maps will have huge areas in them where they are simply not optimal and this means a lack of power - u may not notice it - u might- depending on the engine spec
i did a load of mods to my 2.0 8v and had standard injection and all the mods (cam - kent 295, induction kit, exhaust, vernier pully, larger tb, ported polished head and higher compression) all it did was make the thing awful to drive round town and have a louder induction roar.
stuck the 45s on and everything just worked. loads more drivability and loads more power. just think of the standard injection as i big restrictor

u just needed the extra fuel, as u made it a petrolholic by all the mods giving it better airflow etc etc...

bigger injector are silly.. you lose all the idle resolution even with a mappable ecu..
I originally had the motorsport ones in my rallycross engine. Stevn Gault took them out and used std ones.. car still made 199hp from 1600cc yet has an idle at 900cc
