any up to 1600. Over that and you should use 45's and onwards.

i think u can. Not sure if the head is the same as the 1.2 carb though, i.e. rounded inlet ports at top.

dont necessarily agree about the 40s v 45s thing..
but to answer your question- use 28mm chokes with 1300 manifold.
Steven
with the spi head you'll have totally homo square ports.
wouldnt the 1.4 manifold be better?

whatever the case you will probaly need to change the head to a 1.2 carb or 1300 head, as you'll need the fuel pump on it as the 1.2i is a electric fuel pump, don't think it would work with 40s.
he'd need a regulator anyway.
also the 1.2i pump is only just a little higher pressure than the std mechanical pump.
but yeah a 1.2 carb head will be better. oh the pump dive is on the cam carrier not the head ;) lol
go on, fit T40's to yer 1.2, i want some competition lol
Is the 1.2 carb head meant to be the best for a Nova, standard part.

best out of carb'd heads.
The 1.4 sri head is better, and is a good replacement for the standard 1400sr head, as long as u match ports.
Um, not wanting to sound a killjoy but won't twin 40's on a 1.2 net an unimpressive 70bhp or something, and cost a bomb on insurance?
Or were you planning on being sneaky. In which case, hang on to the old bits just in case!
unless you some fairly extreme engine mods its not really worth it on the 1.2
saying that there will be an example soon as to what you can do if you fancy it lol
