View Full Version : fuel line diameter
i need to replace the piece of hose that runs from the fuel pump to the front of the car (dunno where it ends up cos aint had a proper look yet) what diameter of hose should i use cos there seems to be quite a few to choose from... its a gsi with the fuel pump hanging back right of the car
Take yours off first to get an exact match.
Then.....
go to vaux dealer to get GM one
Or go to scrappie and get one that looks in better conition than yours.
Fuel pipe is usually 2-3mm inside diameter, both rubber and thin plastic type.
You should only need to replace the rubber bits, from the tank to first clip under car and from far left back engine bay to pump/fuel rail (not really sure on inj.)
im replacing mine with air conditioning copper pipe lol
should be approx 8mm Id and braided rubber hose as a minimum.
i also suggest new jubilee clips
8mm, then my fuel pipe is too small to run my 1.8 then!!
I will keep an ear out for lack of fuel!
I take it that wouldn't be the std replacement pipe? Just nice to have enough fuel on tap I suppose.
