I know most of you will be going to Billing on Sunday, but for those of you that aren`t I thought I would mention this. There will be a 1/4 mile RWYB event at North Weald near Harlow in Essex.

They do this a couple of times a year and this one is run by Ultimate Street Car. It normally costs ?10 to get in and ?10 for as many runs as you can fit in (normally 6 or 7). I will be going, and possibly a few others. If anybody is interested, contact me and I`ll give out some more info.

lol, I would be unhappy if I couldn`t break 16secs, and I would like to aim for 15.5ish but given the current state of my Crankshaft that could be ambitious.

Little tip for you...If you are getting loadsa wheelspin off the line(likely) instead of letting off power to control wheelspin, try keeping the power down, ste dropped his times from 15.7 to 15.2 by keeping the power on, i too found it helped and was quicker.
Just let it go thru the spin til it grips.
If you are lucky you wont get spin and it'll just grip :D (unlikely!)
Another trick, but i can't vouch for it personally is to take off at low revs 2kish, until you moving and then plant your right foot.
Just see what works! Good luck

A good method is hold your revs at 2,500 then just dump your clutch. You get a bit of spin (as in squeak) and you are off yeah!

Oh yeah and i bet that 14.8 was at crail lol, with their dodgy timings, and downhill strip!!!!!

we are going to have to organise a drag stripping day, me and mc have discussed, he said he was prepared to travel up to york , but think santapod would be fairer as nearer centre of country for everyone? any ideas?

I`ll find out when the next rwyb at Santa Pod is, and if it doesn`t clash with my bottom end re-build, we can all get together then.

My wheels are 16's and yes it was at crail strange that, and by the way the strip is up hill most of the way you only go down hill for the last third.

I find big wheels are better for valvers coz I tried 14" wheels and it just spins.. :)

I can't comment on crails timing gear coz I aint been any where else. I should say though practise make perfect, the first time I went It was hard work getting sub 16 second times my best was 15.76 wow..

The second 14.80 oohh! yet my m8 got the same more or less both times.

Plus I think my engine is fit to pop so that helps.

Any way don't take a pop at my times I though you had nearly 200bhp? If so try harder! ;)

wasn't having a go, but it seems everyone criticises crail saying its down hill and timing gear is renowned for being dodgy(as posted on mig)

The only real comparison is to be on same track at same day.
ive not tried 14s but you dont recommend em?

go for 14s, i run 13s on mine, i put 15s and u could feel how much slower the acceleration was, so i put the 13s back on.
i reckon i could get sub 16quite easily.

I cant get 13`s over my brakes. 14`s might be a struggle also.

er yeah i would but the oily clutch and the 1month with written notice 1/4 mile time would render it pointless
