It is really easy to take the old one out (if you don't want it), and difficult to fit new one without breaking or bodging it.

The old one will be held in by 3 or 4 rods that just clip in the roof, it is also bonded under widow rubbers, pillar trim and that trim on the back of the lining, if you can remove all these without tearing it just once then give yourself a giant medal and a few pints!!

Once it is removed around the outside the rods just clip in, bend it down in the middle and ease one end out.

You will also need the glue stuff that holds the edge of the lining up.

If you find any lining glue stuff let me know what u used as I have a lining to fit shortly.

good luck!

Sorry to steal topic!!

Does the black look any good with nova pillar trim (white or light grey)?

How did you stick it around the edges?

I have GSi (black) interior and have the white pillar trim, so was wondering wether to have it black or white with that pinholed stuff.

any suggestions??

(sorry admin will move over to my own topic!)

LOL, dont worry about asking a question in a topic. it is kinda related to the topic. Its when people go totally off topic that it gets annoying.

Anyway. You can retrim your pillars to the same colour as your black Gsi trim. This is what I've done. Just get hold of some black vinal and some upholstery spray glue. you might want to use some superglue around the edges so that it doesnt peel away, but when there fitted to the car the vinal shouldn't peel away much anyway.

right from what i found the best stuff to stick your edges is contact adhesive, spread a bit on both surfaces wait till it drys then hey presto, its stuck, this is what i use at my work for sticking vinyl to walls, (floorlayer u see) but its the same stuff, at it peels off also, evo stik do it b&q would be ur best bet to find this

im about to do mine with leather by using the old one as a template n i too am getting in touch with my feminine side with the old sewing machine! i took the old one out after a right warm day and it tore to peices so be careful if your putting a std flimsey one in. a bit of spray glue should be sound to stick around the edges.

when i use the contact adhesive , i put it in a pot and then put it in the microwave to make it more of a liquid and then it goes on mcu more easier
