Headunit help

Just fitted a new headunit in my car and it work fine on the radio but when i press the saurce button to put a cd on it just turns it self on and off like this pattern

ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF just keeps doin this,What could the problem be :roll:

If the radio works then i think the only thing it is gonna be is a faulty unit, could you try it in someone elses car to make sure.

I gave up in the end trying to sort it out,Went out an hour later and it's working fine :roll:
