My My F13 CR has been whining in all gears since I had it fitted. I thought it was the diff assembly, but I recently found that the whining stops when I open the clutch and coast. That'll be the mainshaft bearings, right?

I actually like the sound! but does it mean it's going to blow up soon?

I bought the 'box from Jon Shield, the owner of Courtney Sport. He said it was ok before. Just cuz he owns Courtney doesn't mean he's telling the truth, but if he's not lying what would cause it to start whining now? and yes it has got oil in it!
Cheers evry1

drain the oil, see if its glittery or not.

that will give youa clue.

it could be your clutch release bearing (no biggie) if you say its silent with the clutch depressed

Cheers mate. There's a loud creak when I press the cluch peddle. Guess that's also clutch release bearing too?

is the whining synchronised with the engine rev's or the speed of which ur travelling?

I.e. when changing form 1st to 2nd does the whining drop down again?
