i have a 1.2i and it only has 4 gears
what is the diffrence between a 5 gar gaaer box and a 4 gear gear box

how hard is it to change and and where could i get hold of a a gear box that will fit

theres different boxes!

close ratio ones and wide ratio ones!

all of which range between a f10 to an f15 (these are small block boxes) f16 to f28 are big block boxes (f28 being a 6 speed!)

you most likely have the same box as me, an f10wr 4-speed!

you can change the box to any other small block box!

like a f13cr 5-speed for 0-60s, or a f13wr 5-speed for top end and motorway drving!

some 1.2s came with the 5sp box. anything fromt hr 1.3 sr upwards had the 5spd in it. cant remember off hand exaclty what box was in whcih model though.

and its quuite easy to change it mate. get a haynes manual and have a read at it and see if you are confident enough to tackle it. or do what i did and rip it to bits and learn from there, lol
