Just bought some new alloys and stuck em on today, but they are too wide for my rear arches by about an inch or slightly less. Im new to car modding and that, so i was wondering what would be the easy method of bypassing this problem without buying new alloys. ie i want my arches widening.

anyone got any tutorials or anything that would help me do this?

thanks :)

right chances r there the wrong offset as ive got 195/45/15 's on mine lowered 60mm and it doest catch

ur cheapest bet is to grind the arch lip off but make sure u seal it afterwards as it doesnt go rotton this is what happened on my mk1 gte

now to find a grinder, and go crazy!

is it worth getting it done professionally, if so how much do you think it would cost?

i got a local bodyshop to do mine. only cost ?20, its better that you go to a body shop coz they'll know how far to grind back. he told me if you go any further than the double lip, water could get in and rust your arches to sh*t.

i grinded my arches off till there was a lip of about 1mm. iv got 16s with 45mm offset, 195/45 tyres and a 40mm drop there ok now. if youve got stand suspension n ur offsets right out ul find u get some right scubage especially if you have a car full and ur wheels could even knock ur arches out if the suspension bottoms out. try making a jig out of MDF as round to your arches as possible and a flat one for the inner arch (behind your shocker), take off the shocker and use a bottle jack to push the arch out about 10mm. if you get your jig right itll work. dnt forget to check afterwards for any slight gaps then use a sealer( looks abit like silicone, in a tube) to prevent any rust. doing this, n you should be able to manage a nice drop even with the wrong offset.

if u do this id recomend u warm ur arch up with a heat gun \ hair dyer
