the one that holds the bonnet down

yeah that one, iv'e adjusted the spring tension a few times but it still doesn't work. i don't want to have to put bonnet pins on coz i reckon it will spoil the look.

If the spring was holding the original bonnet, the new bonnet must be not entirely fitted straight so it isn't lining up.
Try re-fitting the bonnet.

according to the guy i bought it off , its the only one in the country.
he made it totally out metal. the best bit is it only cost ?100.
i'll try and post a picture of the spring tonight.

does any one have any other ideas on how i can keep the bonnet down without having to use the spring coz when the guy made the bonnet , he took alot of the support out of it and im worried when i pop the bonnet, it might end up cracking the filler.?

cheers

i guess youve already adjusted where the bonnet fastens on-so its slid forward as much as itll go? try un doing the nut above the spring a little bit to give you some play then try it. if that works the remove the nut put a thin rubber washer on then two thin nuts so itll have a bit of play, no vibration and you can lock the nuts tight. dnt push on the bonnet too hard thought to test it as it can break the plastic mounting on your lights(thats what i did). by the way its a sweet bonnet

finally got the bonnet to keep catching every time now. it just took alot of fiddling with the spring height.

i have noticed that the lip of the bonnet is scratchin the grill to s*it.
what have most people done to stop this?any ideas?

how much do you reckon a bodyshop would charge to make up a custom grill?

I don't think there is anything you can do, because if the bonnet catches the grill then the badboy lip is angled too far towards the bonnet, its how its been made.
You could try and mod the grill though.

im thinkning of cutting a ledge out of it and then fillign it smoothe
so the badboy bonnet goes into the grill abit

thats what im goin to do

a friend of mine had a bad boy bonnet. he had a grill with the top section removed. it looked tidy when the bonnet was open and made opening the bonnet ( coz of the catch) easier too. dnt pay a body shop to do what you can do.
