when doing a swap from a 1.3sr to a 1.4sr engine, are there any different parts i will need to get. i have been told its a straight swap but is this correct??
also
would i be able to use my 1.3 gearbox with the 1.4 engine or is this not recomended??
cheers guys

Dont think its worth all that work, theres only 3bhp difference.....

the 1.4 engine has been blueprinted thats all.
so is it a straight swap??
Should be a straight swap mate, probably the easiest engine conversion to do. but it ai't worth the hassle, for 3bhp. A 1.3 with performance exhaust and proper carb setup would probably equal the 1.4 anyway.

even though the 1.4 has had work done to it??
would i get more gains if i put the carb and exhaust on the 1.4??

you'll get more than 3bhp from a 100cc increase in capacity.
Keep the 1300 head and manifold and use the 1400 cam and you will see about 5-9bhp increase. and quite a bit more torque, so it will accelerate quicker.
what does blueprinted mean?
rebuilt block..... rebuilt to the manafactuers original spec "back to the blue prints" kinda......... i think im prob wrong often am
you will need to change the coil and a bit of wiring i believe as the 1.3 uses Delco-remy ignition and 1.4 uses bosch. I may be wrong though
