Astra digi dash problem

i have just fit a digi dash and it works. the problem is the temp. it is pickin something up but by the time the temp reaches half way the water is nearly bubblin over??? has anyone suffered this problem? the fan doesnt seem to kick in if the temp signal is right except the dash is showin it as lower than it is

I think you have to fit a 2way switch to the bottom of the radiator, this then sends the correct temperature.
I know its something to do with a different switch.
