Tinting Windows

as soon as the baby is back on the road, i fancy getting it tinted, been wanting to for ages!

but just wondering whats the darkest i could go! im thinking of limo tint for the rear window and rear sides, just wondering if i could have limo tint for the front side window, or will i have to go a bit lighter?

i think by law it has to let 70% of availiable light through it

so no its not legal

havin said that ive got mirror tint on mine but ive never been pulled
and i dont think its legal

the police will test it with a tint master iff u get pulled to see how much lights bin let through

ps the back windscreen is a twat to do

The legal limit 4 front side windows is 75% but if you get mirror tints i think its a less :D

u cant even have light smoke by law. cos that tints it to about 30% as the windows r about 15% normal and the most its suposed ot be now is %25 but they dont moan much aobut it tho

Very rarely, a couple of mates have mirror tints on and they are illegal. They ain't ever been pulled for them.

a tip of someone in the trad for puting it on the back window

what i got told was

if you get the window out and trun the film up side down on the outside of the window(so the sticky side faces you on the oposite side you are sticking it on)
then get a hot air gun or hair dryer and heat up to get to the correct shape

when it has sunk and is fairly smoothe on the top then you can stick it on and it is the right shape.

is it possible to get any kind of tint for thr front, say a 10% tint for example? (so it lets in 90% light) just to give it a bit of well, style!

a film that lets 90% of the avaliable light is legal it has to let 75% of the light in as said above

well what happens with limos and cars that come out the factory with tinted windows my neighbour has a newish car 52 plate and i would say there tints about 50-60%

they must be legal otherwise wudnt be allowed to leave the factory with out passin the eu regs on em i supose

To do it best should you take all the windows out to tint em? Or just the back window? Need a special tool for removing the seals/glass?

remove windows with either 2 screw drivers, 2 spoons or 2 knives thats how i got mine out

ive removed all me windows except front screen and never broke one once + am a heavy hand coont 2

i think id prefer to get it professionally done, i wouldnt trust myself or any cowboy to do it!

i dont want any bubbles or streaks in it, and i hate it when you wind down the window and theres a bit at the top which has just been cut, id prefr a proper job!

Well you can pay ?300 or however much for pro fitted tints or spend ?21.10 and get someone who can do them to do it.
I've done all mine, And no big creases or rips or anything.
Limo on back and light smoke on front.

If you have tints and the police stop you for it they will make sure they do you for it, as they have nothing better to do.

cost me a tonn done by a professional and 50 sheets 2 have all the glass taken out 4 him 2 do and put bk in.
