This is a post steven (s_gault) put on a local site, detailing about some of my head work. Some of you may find it interesting &/or useful!

------------------------------------

Time to turn attention to the head.

And I thought Id show you exactly why just bolting on a manifold for carbs is a waste of time..

Check out the mismatch in this...gonna take me afew hours sorting this one. This creates serious turbulance and totaly destroys the high velocity flow and affects flow everywhere in the lift curve.. Must sort!

Yeah, You should always match inlet and exhaust manifolds. Even if fitting std manifolds it's still worth it :D

Had to have the same done to mine Keith. I have the SBD Inlet Manifold on my XE and you wouldnt believe how bad the cast was, it had a 3 mm lip all the way round the end of each port.

Had both the inlet and exhaust ports matched and what with a set of cams and pulleys i achieved just under 200 bhp! Well worth doing guys.
