dont think it will fit as the GTE is a F13 where as the 1.2 is a F10. The flywheels are different sizes, you can use the sr box if your after 5 gears.

An F13 will fit a smaller engine. Got one on my SR. But it was fivespeed already of course. Don't know if it would cause probs with a four speed car tho.

is it a spi or carb? not that it probably makes any difference, its just I have a GTE box, a 1.2 carb bottom end, and some 1.2 shafts out on the floor with some other stuff as I'm having a sort out. tomorrow I'll line them up and check because it would be handy to know as a mate of mine with a 1.2 wants a 5 speed box.

flywheel won't cause any problems as its smaller than the gte one.

linkage may be different at some point i dunno

i think the clutch might be a tad bigger on the GTE. Will that make a difference to the box fitting?

mines a carb

ihave a gte for a doner but if it wont fit ill have to find an sr box i need 5 gears befor pv lol

my 1.2i came with 5 gears surely of of these would be better. I cant imagine a GTe box on a 1.2 is gonna be any good.

Snowface - I think the release bearings are the same so I wouldn't have though so.

Riggy - If you have a gte donor car then if the linkage or the lever/lever surround etc is a problem you should be able to swap it over

Phil - I think i have a 4speed 1.2 box so I will TRY lol and weigh the two to see if its a big difference but i can't see it. people on here and mig say the clusters of a f13cr and f10cr are the same, just the final drive is different (i don't know myself), so that could be where the f10cr would be better.

i don't know what fd is in a 4speed box, maybe stick that in the gte box?

someone who has actually tried both might be able to say.

F10W/4 - 3.73 or 3.94

F10W/5 - 3.94 or 4.18 (4.18's are only on 1.3SR)

F13W - 3.94

F13C - 3.94 or 3.74 (F13C found on some 1.4SR's, mine's supposed to have come from a Corsa SXI)

yeah checked it and the box fits the block fine. the input shaft spline fits into the friction plate, and although the release bearing looks slightly different, it fits the pressure plate in the same way.

but unless you're planning on getting a 4.8 fd anyway, get an sr f10 with the different final drive to the f13.

right so if the gte box isnt worth it ,is the sri or should i just get the sr one

i fitted a late gsi box on my 1.4 yesterday... loads better than the f10/5 wr.... and lower reving in 5th than the f10/5 cr.... best of both worlds
