Dont know if this has ever seen the light before. But through one of our clients at work he has got me this out of the Vauxhall filling cabinet.

best described as

"A proposal by Dealer Team Vauxhall for a racing version of the Nova".

Many thanks to Mr. Shaw for supplying the photo.

apparently at the vauxhall design place - they draw these images (as attached) in full size / scale on a brick / plaster wall! so they can get a better feel for how it would work etc. there not pen and paper drawings

my source used to work for vauxhall publications department & also R&D, so i have no reason to disbelieve him.

it does have mk2 astra elements i agree.

Ok...and whats happening with this? Is it something that they thought of 20years ago and never developed? Or are they thinking of re-releasing this vehicle?

in all fairness I don't think that looks like a Nova...defo looks more like an Astra

very much think mk1 astra i do along with other people. ill ring him this afternoon to satisfy ourselves :lol: give him a courtesy call or something.

and its is very much a concept that never got developed. for some reason he said it had come to light again and that was the only reason he came across it the last time he visited.

it does look quite a lot like the mk1 astra. But then the mk1 astra does like like a nova in ways.

^Tjis is the astra mk1 touring car concept. Was allegedly gonna be used in DTM early 80's and thudersaloons in UK. There was a road going replica on the front cover of total vauxhall last year or the year before with a LET, in snot-green colour (the car not the engine LOL!)with 18" TSW hockenheims.
