alarm remote problems (clifford)

got my new nova with a clifford concept 300 all installed working fine as i have all my doors de-locked and de-handled this is a very handy alarm to get into the car.
but have got a problem i changed the batteries in both hand set reomtes and put the back covers back on the remotes and it didn't work.
took the back cover off and leave it off and it works fine this is the case for both the remotes any ideas whats going on with them??

apart from the fact its a clifford soz mate no only thing i can think of is there is more pressure on the battery wiv the cover o?n

could be that i'll just gunna get the alarm serviced and see what they say thanks
