I've seen a couple of superchargers on ebay for about ?100-?150 and was thinking of getting one but thought i'd get some opinions first. I've been told it will fuck my engine-what do you recon :?:

Dont bother!
Its a pile of bo**ocks at best!
If anything it will restrict air flow!!!

It runs at a max 1 psi!!! WOW!!!
To get this to work, you would need to get it to spin 100000000 times faster.

Barg!!

supercharger boost is dependant entirely on compressor speed and sizing..

Its not too hard to machine a bigger compressor pulley..its all in the gearing.

There is another one that aparently 'fits all cars' but they're in germany and all the feedback is german!

Why do you think they are so shite? I don't know if they're any good but if it does spin at 8000rpm surely that will force a load of air in?I can see how it might restrict air flow but at the same time if it spins quick enough then surely it would give a performance increase?

wny not just buy one and find out for your self :D:D:D

Possibly because wasting ?1.50 on a shit resistor doesn't bother but wasting ?125 would

if indeed it does shift 220CFM of air @ 8000 rpm (thats a hell of a lot of air for a fan lol)

then it will give zero gains. mainly because one cylinder uses approx 70cfm of air at peak torque, so 4 of them is 280CFM, and then start winding the engine up faster itll need more air. so the fan will jsut inhibit the airflow

do i need to go on? lol

it could be magic?

a real turbo would spin at about 200000 rpm (something like that) so 8000rpm isnt really that much
