View Full Version : Flaming Sucker
i was going to get a twin flamer kit for my car but someone said because i have a twin 5" rage exhaust they may suck the flames back into the engine. I dont know much about engines but that doesn't sound like a good idea.
So my question is that does anybody know if the flames could be sucked back in.
Cheers guys,

reminds me of when i brought my capri, oh it was a beast 1.6 laser. Well one of my friends decided he was going to light the exhaust with a fag lighter, while the choke was out. It had a 6 foot flame out the back and i drove round the car park for a while until i went to turn it off, hmmm the flames continued to come out for a good 5 mins and i couldnt get it out. But when i went to start it back up it wasnt having any of it. It really messed it up.
Cheers mate think i will give them a miss then. didn't no weather to belive my mate cos he deals with car electrics not the actual mechanics side, he was guna make me one but then dropped that bombshell.
Nevermind..... :x   :x

well my mate the one that set it alight has made his own kit on his mini. That seems fine and is still going strong, all he has done is made a kill switch with a spark plug in the exhaust.

engine will be fine - there would have to be something wrong ith it for it to suck up the exhaust.
id be suprised if flames could travel through however many boxes you have on your system also.
id be more concerned about melting your nice abyss bumper
good point: i was just thinking about the flames causing problems to my engine , dint even think about the bumper. But the exhaust is going to be modified to stick an extra 50mm cos flotech who did the work did it wrong cos it sits about 20mm behind the bumper anyway, dont think you can tell from the photo. cheers mate..
