i havent had mine done yet, although i do have all the kit to do it, ive been quoted ?40 each to delock the doors, thats not actually including thr fitting of the central locking kit either!

so im gonna get that done and de lock it myself with my bros welder and a load of filler! :)

well i've got the c.l. on already. just want rid of the locks :).

i could do it myself... but i thought getting it done professionally might be more long term than doing it my way with filler

all u need is a bit of 2 inch x 2 inch thin steel plate, some strong adhesive (like tiger seal) n a bit of filler. Just stick the plate over the back of the hole n skim the outside with filler.

maplins is quite good but in sum cases u get wot u pay for, like the last time i placed an order for some switches and a few other bits.they were tacky n shit n not as durable as i expected from the picture in the catalogue.ur best goin into the shop so u can see wot ur gettin.
p.s u dont have to use tiger seal thats just an example, theres other adhesives such as stickoflex.

basic idea on how to do it..

WELD in some plates from the rear with as litte distortion to the panel... then grind the edges back around the hole so as you can blend it out...

Make sure you bare metal around the lock area where u'll be smoothing it out

if you goin to use fibregalss just use fibreglass it strong enough to hlod as i did this with mine

bang in the edges of the lock first
then just fibreglass over the back and then skim with filler over the top

easy as piss
