i really wanna lower my ride, but im deciding whether to get them all at once or not. if i bought some lowering springs, would i have to buy the shocks? or would it work using my standard ones?

well heres how i see if, if your low on cash, just buy some lowering spings... but depending on how much u lower on the standard shocks will determin how long they last :/ before ur car starts skippin around ;)

If you have the money buy the full kit, you'll get a better ride quality... with less hassle in the long run

60mm or lower id recomend ne shocks aswell

but 40mm id just make sure ur standard shocks r in good nick
and like said above it depends on ur budjet aswell

mines lowered 40mm all round, and i can feel it being a little soft now, especially when i go over a speed bump! (it feels like ive driven up a curb at 70mph!) but ive got some 60mm lowering springs to go on the rear soon, so i reckon ill be going through a few sets of shocks!

oh well, itll looks the muts nuts though... :D

It's not necessary to get shocks, but it's some that I would advise. I put lowered springs in my car and after a few months the shocks needed replacing.

You can buy full kits for ?200. If you can't afford it now, save up for a couple of months and then get a full kit (G-max are probably your best bet).

gsi shocks r stiffer than 1.2's and the sr/gte/gsi sat 10mm lower than 1lt/1.2's

It depends on the drop, but they will still wear out. Chances are New standard shocks are going to be just as much as ones from G-max anyway.
