Hi all, I just bought a nova 1.4sr 91 model and want to lower it and put my 15" alloys on it, so how low can I go with 15's and std shocks? Cheers

if u lower it 60mm or more ull need to change the shocks

as Epo sed, 60mm or more buggers up the camber of ure suspension n wears out ure shocks, with mine on 40mm springs it rebounds too easily.
Expect to wear thrugh tuyres as well

I reckon you could go 40mm....

My 1.2 is 40mm and the wheels only just catch on the rear with low profile arches, plus my offset is 7mm out. Seeing as you havn't given much information, im guessin 40mm would be as far as you can go, SR is 10mm lower than standard so it'l look nice and low, seen a car around with the same set up (SR -40mm springs)

Tell me your Wheel and tyre Size ? Offset ? MK1 or MK2 ?

It varies soo much anyway, theres fair amount of tolerance when nova's were made, some are better than others !

if the wheels are 45-49mm offset you should be fine going 60mm. you may need to trim the arch lips slightly (just grind them down then underseal them).

doesnt really matter about standard shocks. yes they'll wear quicker but its no biggie really. i ran my sr's on standard shocks and they were fine.

get some 45 profile tyres too

im slammed 70 on 17s..... anythings possible

(he says 17s - havent got any tyres for them but my arches can accomodate them  )

on bricks at the moment cos i need 17s to go over my new brakes
