Just thought i'd show u all a Local Nova, one of my favourates. The bodywork is completely un-molested, apart from the chrome detail, headlight protectors and splitter. Its absolutely slammed, running speedlines, 16v drilled front brakes, and astra GTE rear discs, also drilled.

Its also absolutely mint, never painted, no rust. He got it out of england a few years back standard!

I'm not too sure on the miles, i think he bought it 3 years ago with only 40,000 on the clock, and he's driven it everyday since then. The engine has had some "work" but he's the type of guy who doesnt tell much! Its very quick tho!

/me knew he shouldn't of opened this topic.......

I will have one, one day, oh yes, I will have one......

That is fooking mint btw, splitter is a bit too deep for my linking and not keen on the number plate text, and I'd remove the wing aerial and fit a Corsa roof one, but other than that - pretty much spot on!!
:D

Mint GSi
I had a black gsi (with the metallic paint) but on standard 14's, mint bodywork tho', but underneath she was quite rusty...........something I found out after I barrel-rolled her, during the strip down!

lol.. trust you to be THIS picky :P

He hasnt removed the wing ariel cos he didnt want to paint it. But he now plans to completely rebuild the car to concourse standard, and only use it as a weekend car. Not sure when he'll start the project, but it should be pretty sweet! I'd say he'll remove the wing ariel then, and maybe remove the locks etc!

I think one Mint nova is enough for you :P

There's another bloke near me has a SHOWROOM conditon diamond black GSI, but the tosser ruined it with M3 mirrors and an evo bonnet vent! I told him the vent HAS to go, he wasnt too impressed with the comment!

I'm scared of putting pics up of mine when it's done. Between them, Jules, Will and Ste will rip it to shreads, lol.

That Gsi is lovely though. Black is definatley best ;)

As long as it's metallic black and it still resembles a GSi pretty much then it'll be cool - Black wheels would also help!!

Cheers Jules. That picture was prior to it being taken off the road though. It'll look fairly similar to that, but with a few tweaks here and there ;)

Chris

I think he may have passed away Chris. He must have been in his 70's when he did the work, and that was a few years ago.

You learn from your mistakes, hence why I stress to people who want "a cheap respray" not to bother as it'll cost them more in the longrun.

That first GSi is no lower than 65mm, looks great though.

The second one is not to my taste, but the paint looks excellent, any more pics ?
