I have officially joined the Club of people with Points on there licences.
Ive got to admit i was due for some 3 years of being a nut and nothing well i got busted unsure whether by a static cam or mobile though

99% of insurance companys charge nothing for a single SP30 3 points now purely because due to speed cameras coming into force over the last 10 yrs, nearly every driver has 3 points...

im still clean, just waiting for the day which will happen at some point

As "Mr Insurance" said above, it shouldn't be too bad, it'll be very minimal if anything.

I still managed with my 8 points to get insured on all sorts..

Bad luck tilly, but on the bright side as *cough* "Mr Insurance" said it probably won't affect your insurance. Best to tell them though anyway... i told mine when i got 3 points for sitting at home watching telly, when apparently i was doing 41 in a 30 at Lydford on the A37 :? :D

How did you not lose yourr license? I thought it was an automatic ban if you were caught doing over 100mph?

mine was 48 in a 30
then the next day got busted as i had a festa van up my ass as soon as i got on the duel carrage way he tried to overtake me so i left him looked in me rear view mirror theres a blue volvo unmarked hurtelin towards me light flashin
i pulled over and got out out
he said how fast were u goin i said no idea and explained about the van he told me to change me plates 4 legal ones and be on me way
what a nice copper that was 3 years ago mind u not bin caught since

some arse in a bmw cut me up a few weeks ago an i went racing after it , there was a unmarked police car behide me. :( I got 3 points an a fine, that brings me up to 6 points now.

I dont do much mileage which is prolly why I have only ever been caught once (radar trap in an old farm landrover parked in a gateway) but I have to say I reckon we all shud be able to spot plod and cameras really if we are being observant - most of them arent exactly subtle........ :o

I got cond by the pigs when they did me for speeding,ok i was doing 40 in a 30 so i was speeding,but the cop said to me,what speed wer you doing,so i was stupid and said 38 ish :roll:
He said to me well i had to do 50 to get up to you so think you wer doing more like 50,i asked him if i could see his prof,he said all i need to do is ask my partner what speed wer we doing and if he say's the same as me then thats all we need to do,then told me i had a choice take three points and ?60 fine or risk hire fine and points in court!!
So me being very nervous thougt i will take the points and fine,wish i knew the thing's i do now..

Well sorry to here you got done tilly :( ,and as every one els said shouldnt hurt the insurance..

ok ok it still breaking the law - you get done speeding, not much you can do about it, but what im asking is dosent there become a point of entrapment if police are protending to be someone else? e.g driving high performance cars to hide the fact they are pigs ?

Jim i got done for doing well in excess of 100mph and never got banned, so has my brother, just depends on the policeman.

If its a traffic cop your screwed.
