TD Advice

Got a Normal 1.5d The tapets are rattling like buggery.I want to bin the engine and go for a TD.
Which is best 1.7 td or 1.5td and which would be easier.

Also what would I need from the donor car.

Please help.

1.5 m8 coz u will defo get insured for it and it is all pretty easy get a nova diesel manual and then follow the steps off there or find a nova td straight swap

nova 1.5D is group 5, 1.5TD is group 6, Cavalier 1.7TD is group 8 (GL) so its not that much of a jump in terms of insurance

I would go with the 1.7,like Road Knight said, the insurance shouldn't be that much of a jump.

aint D engines stupidly cheap to insure anyways?

compared to petrol that is ... 5 to 7 aint such a jump really though

1.7 all the way - the work is well worth it they can be tuned so easily and they are blindingly quick!!
