best way to do it. drop the engine then lift thecar and drag engine out. brutal but effective

lol, too right, thats how me and my bro got the 2.0 out of his astra, but we used the electric lift on the back of a removal truck!

unbolted the engine, cut up the engine mounts, reversed the truck so the floor was under the gte, lifted up gte, engine fell out, tied the seat belt around the engine, and pulled it out, took us about half a day!

what a day that was (even though the engine p*ssed oil all over the back of the truck destroying furnature!) ended up scrapping the engine as there was no use for it!

classic!

Classic eh Tazzy.

I was going to do it the proper way, engine out the top but as i got to the lat engine mount the gearbox one, it wouldnt budge, very awkward. I thought allow it, opened the 4 subframe bolts, dropped straightaway easier and quicker.

i hadn't realised it took so long to simply take an engine out ... looks like a messy job too lol

i been told my and some mates will be able to get my nova in and out working with the 2.0l 8v in a day max

I dont think it would take that long if there were a few. I was alone and it was my first time taking an engine out, reson why i took so long.

Conversions have been known to have been done in a day.
