timing a 1.4nv?

i have the top metal back cover lined up with the pulley & lined up the crank bottom with number 1 piston up. But when i put the belt on the crank moves slightly & it wont fire properly. What shall i do

where you are putting the belt on, put the crank back abit so when you tighten the belt it turns it so its spot on with the marks!! and remember that you will need to adjust the timing by moving the disy around :wink:
that may be you problem of it not firing!!

thanks mate it all lined up properly. But its still firing wrong & mettalic sounding so i'll take the head off tomorrow.

I took it off & it turned out to be a valve sticking out, so on with the 1.2 head instead
