Just got back from Castle Combe. Im a bit p*ssed off as i only got 3 laps due to one of my fuel lines blowing off. It sprayed about 1/4 of tank of petrol all over the engine, how it didnt catch fire i dont know :?
Apart from that the short time i was actually on the track i managed to take 4 cars one of which was a 106 GTI which i lost straight away. But just as i was closing in on the 205 GTI the car just died an so did the mini behide me :(
I was rather pleased with it on the track and had fun hunting down the french cars :D just wish i could have had longer ah well i suppose it could have been a lot worse.
least u got a few laps bet it was well good

yeah it was really good fun, the car handled much better than i though, i was really throwing it into corners and considering it was only a 1.4 it did fairly well.

Hi Phil, your car looked really good. I've got you on Film (was standing along the striaght before Quarry Corner).... Haven't watched it yet though... My mate with the Silver Valver spoke to you afterwards but I didn't see you....
GUTTED!!!! Both mine and my mates Silver Valver weren't allowed on as we were over the Noise limit! :x The Valver kicked out 103db and mine 108db...... The limit was 100db! DOH!!!!!
Then to top it off my Head gasket blew (found out that was the problem with my smoking....see other post) So i've got to spend tomorrow doing that... which isn't as simple as on a Normal Gsi!!!
Nurburgring in one week.... Arrgghhhhhh
Did you see my car Phil? The one with No Bumper with a massive intercooler on the front smoking a lot! 8)

You'll have to let me have a copy of that film when you get it sorted :D
Yeah i saw your car, you drove past bout half hour before i was suppose to on the track. I have to say it was rather loud and you only crawled past.
I felt the track was quite suited to my car especially on the corners which was where i made my ground on the others cars. I hear there is another one some time in the summer am I right in thinking this?

The last few years that i've been at combe the Nova has felt good round the track! I noticed there was lots of other Nova on track as well.... Mostly SR's on Carbs like yours Phil.... Shame the PNG stand only had 2 Novas!!! Plus mine and my mates.
I've got on film a GSi keeping up with a Scooby (new one) round Quarry corner! and the Scooby was squealing so he was defo pushing hard :o
The next Action day is on 11th or 12th June..... around then anyway. I'll defo be there.... but with a quieter exhaust
I had a few set backs today Karl.... :( More and More things keep going wrong... I will be taking Thursday off work to get it rebuilt me thinks as the head isn't even off yet... theres just so much stuff thats bolted in my engine bay to get out the way first.
On the plus side my Godspeed Brakes finally Arrived :P So they'll be going on tomorrow night.
Neil
