Bit out of place, but it'l never get answred in ICE

I'm runnig a live feed using a powercable from my battery terminal for my amp, i've just been told i need an inline fuse before the cable enteres the car.

do i just connect a fuse from the battery terminal onto the start of the cable, or should i cut the cable in the engine bay and slot it inline >

if so, what kind of fuse do i use ?!

what power cable did you use? if you bought a kit it should of had one on. If not, it's crap.

You can buy water proof fuse holders from any good audio shop. even Halfords sell them. Just cut your line (make sure it's disconnect from your battery) then follow the instructions.

there you go.

i bought some 10AMP fuses, i'm guessing they shuld be enuff, if my cable is rated differently then i'l have to take em back n swap em ! , runnig it unfused at the moment tho ! argh :-P

the amp rating is worked out as watts / volts = amps
if your amp has for example 200watt output

200/12 = 16.666666666 amps

use a 25 amp fuse to make sure you have some tolerance.
