ive got a 1.4sr engine, gonna be putting my 1.2 head on it.
i read that i need to use the head gasket for a 1.2,
what about the cam cog thing? do i use the one on my 1.2, or do i put the one from the 1.4 onto the 1.2 head? then would i use a timing belt from a 1.2 or 1.4sr?

im getin the 4-2-1 manifold form the 1.4 engine, this i was told will bolt strait onto the 1.2 head. i also am getting a strait through system (froma 1.4sr) so all i need is a back box to suit a 1.4

any other points or helpful info u think i mite need to make it a smooth conversion...

also im putting in a f10cr gearbox from a 1.3sr, will this just go strait in?
is there a gasket between the block n gearbox??

cheers

john

1.2 head on a 1.4 block is fine, use a 1200 head gasket. Use the cam pulley that matches the block i.e. 1400 block so use 1400 pulley and belt.
(there are 2 types of pulley, the grooves between the teeth are either rounded or squared off)

Back box on your 1.2 will fit onto the end of the 1.4system you are getting which is all fine.

Make sure u use the 1400 cam in the 1200 head, or get a kent or equivalent.

F10 gearbox is absolutley fine. No worries. Not sure on gasket, don't think i used one, can't really remember.

1400 head gaskets are all the same, gasket sets only have different part numbers for the inlet manifold

he's putting a 1200 head on a 1400 block and is asking a good question, what head gasket to use.

You use the gasket that matches the head, so in this case 1200.

there is not a gasket on the face between the box and block
